The Krishna temple

Krishna temple of the Patan Durbar Square:

The Krishna temple of the Patan durbar square is dedicated to, as the name itself suggests, the much loved Hindu god Krishna. This is Shikhara style temple but a very unique one as it has 21 pinnacles instead of the one-pinnacle fashion of almost all hindu temples in the World. The temple itself was built on the 17th century by the then King of Lalitpur, Siddhinarshingha Malla, after he had a dream of Lord Krishna standing together with his consort goddess Radha on the same spot.

Every year on the date of the Krishna Janmastami festival which usually falls on the second week of the August, thousand of Hindu devotees visit the temple to celebrate the birthday of the Lord Krishna.
